Porsche has now revealed two new exciting variants in its Taycan facelift. The entry level of this high-performance electric vehicle will be Taycan 4, all-wheel drive (AWD), and GTS promises a performance upgrade, available in forms of sedans or shooting brakes. The new models sport impressive upgrades in the performance and design arena.
Porsche’s new entry-level model, Taycan 4, has inherited AWD functionality and the dual electric motor configuration that previously seemed the preserve of the Cross Turismo. The Taycan 4 outputs can be flexible, claims Porsche, varying based on the battery version that the customer decides to order. The standard battery results in an impressive 300 kW for the boost or Launch Control feature, while it can top out at up to 320 kW with Launch Control. With this setup, this Taycan 4 can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.6 seconds, besting the RWD model by 0.2 seconds. The cost for the two battery options for the Taycan 4 of those paying attention to the range depends on having either a Performance battery or a Performance Plus battery, the latter giving up to 643 km under the WLTP standard, and up to 559 km using the former.
The Taycan 4 is set apart by its style and handling with the standard 19-inch wheel, LED Matrix Design headlights, and Porsche Track Management (PTM) paired with Adaptive Air Suspension featuring Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM). Together, they offer a comfortable, accurate, and unique drive.
For the sporty driver, there is much upgrade to be found in Porsche’s Taycan GTS. This gives the GTS an incredible 515 kW of power with more than overboost or Launch Control. It improves power by 75 kW compared to its predecessor. This improvement in performance will enable the GTS to achieve 0 to 100 km/h in a mind-numbingly quick 3.3 seconds -0.4 seconds quicker than the previous models. As if that were not enough, the GTS could accelerate from 0 to 200 km/h in just 10.4 seconds, which is an impressive full 1.6 seconds quicker than its predecessors could. This also translates to a phenomenal growth in its range; the GTS now has an absolute maximum operating distance of 628 km from full charge, to which it has gained 120 km by WLTP standards.
Design-wise, the Taycan GTS boasts sporty touches that make it hot. The electric sport sound, distinctive front and rear aprons taken from the Taycan Turbo S’s Sport Design, as well as 20-inch wheels, all give the car a face that looks stunningly dynamic in line with its performance.
Already starting to take orders for the new Taycan models, it would be delivered by the end of the first quarter of the following year. Buyers interested in the Taycan 4 would start at $103,300. The Taycan GTS comes as a sedan at $147,900 while the Sport Turismo would be priced at $149,800.
These line additions further set Porsche as a precedential model for combining innovative technology with amazing performance- the high bar for electric vehicles. Whether the purchaser chooses the base Taycan 4 or the rip-roaring GTS, there is an absolutely spectacular combination of power, style, and range that’s assuring Porsche a continued leading position in the electric sports car landscape.
