VinFast, the renowned automotive manufacturer from Vietnam, has officially started shipping its VF9 model to the United States market, marking a significant milestone in the company’s international expansion. The Plus variant will be the first to reach U.S. customers, followed by the Eco type, which will be available later this year. To make the VF9 more appealing, VinFast has introduced substantial discounts: the Eco variant’s price dropped from $83,000 to $69,800, while the Plus variant saw a reduction from $91,000 to $73,800.
Additionally, VinFast is offering a promotional rental price of $529 per month for the first 100 U.S. customers, including a $500 discount and a $2,000 down payment. This pricing strategy makes the VF9 an attractive option for those entering the electric vehicle (EV) market.
The VF9 features a robust 123 kWh battery. The Eco model offers an impressive range of 330 miles on a single charge, while the Plus variant provides 291 miles. Both versions support DC fast charging, allowing the battery to go from 10% to 80% in just 35 minutes. Powered by an electric motor delivering 402 horsepower, the VF9 can accelerate from 0 to 97 km/h (60 mph) in just 6.63 seconds, showcasing its strong performance capabilities.
Inside, the VF9 combines comfort and technology. Both variants include a two-zone temperature controller, a 15.6-inch infotainment display, a 13-speaker audio system, and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS). The Plus variant adds luxury touches like heated, ventilated, and massage-enabled front seats. The spacious three-row seating design targets families, making the VF9 a competitive option in the large SUV market.
VinFast’s VF9 enters the U.S. market to rival other electric SUVs like the Kia EV9. With its combination of performance, luxury, and competitive pricing, the VF9 is set to capture the attention of American consumers looking for eco-friendly and family-oriented vehicles.
